Our client MYLAPS is the inventor of the Standard in Sports Timing equipment. Based in Noord-Holland and with more than 30 years of experience, a team of 150 colleagues works on developing, manufacturing, selling and applying their equipment in lots of sports. Because the equipment is so high-end and the stakes are so high, MYLAPS has its unique way of inventing and developing hardware and software – with their own production and testing facility near the office.
Within the team of hardware developers, 10 professionals work closely together in order to find high tech solutions for challenging client wishes. They use the SCRUM methodology to gain quick results and learn from each other. There is a no-nonsense culture, lots of humor and room for growing skills as well as personal development.
New product initiatives arrive from product management. The yearly roadmap is based on this and structures the projects you will be working on.
With your all-round experience and view, you can understand and clarify the customer’s needs and translate this to the technical specifications. Next you can dive into the technical matters, do research and testing in a high tech and well-equipped testing facility. As a team, you work together with a tight deadline towards solutions and results. Every two weeks, new goals are set by the team itself and projects are assigned in changing team compositions, so that you get to know each other, share knowledge and learn. You deliver new products or upgrades with prototype, documentation and even production tooling with assembly instructions. At the end of the process, you will help starting up the first production series and intervene when necessary.

Incidentally, you will have the opportunity to travel abroad to sports events (mostly during weekends) to test new products in the field.
We are looking for an all-round hardware developer, an inventor who has experience in developing electronics such as CPI's, firmware or connectivity devices (RF), preferably combined with battery technology.
- You realize that internal stakeholders have to be informed; therefore, you are a sensitive and an open communicator.
- You have an educational background at bachelor’s level in Electronics.
- You are fluent in Dutch and English.
- You are familiar with development methods and tools such as: Nordic, ARM MCU and you can work with Xilinx FPGA chips.
- You like sports and are willing to travel (approximately 5 weekends a year).
